Energised by the opportunity to tackle any creative challenge.

Independent Project – Not All Bad

Some of my fondest projects to-date were from this past academic year. The sample below is the self-led final project conceptualising ‘How can design enhance the London Underground experience for morning commuters?’, where I was able to utilise my favourite design channels: print, social media, and text animations.

The concept is to purposefully “infiltrate” and “disrupt” the usual routine of a commuter who would have to spend time in this ‘non-place’ with limited (to no) signal… So why not use this wasted time and target those busy go-getters? A wellbeing focus was adopted, with the intention of boosting morale and mental health.

Year In Industry – SPFT

I grew tremendously in my confidence as a designer during my placement year. Working for SPFT during the COVID-19 pandemic provided unforeseen challenges for which have now given me a wider understanding of the role of a designer within a Communications Team and a greater appreciation of the real-time impact such work can have on people and communities.

My day-to-day role as a Junior Designer involved communicating with various stakeholders (e.g. CAMHS, Sussex Police, BHCC) whilst leading print/digital projects for both clinical and non- clinical purposes. I quickly found a specialism in ‘through- the-line’ content creation, especially for use on social media platforms.

Information Design – Formula 1

This project is designed to present Formula 1 sustainability pledges in an accessible and engaging format in order to make data regarding the journey to net carbon zero, impactful and easier to comprehend. Educating fans will enable them to embrace more of ‘what’s going on behind closed doors’ and extend pride for their industry leading sport.

With a logical narrative, it provides context to the topic and instructions of interactive points. It helps present figure heavy data sets in an accessible manner for both gist and latent journeys.

The Future…

I am energised by the opportunity to tackle any creative challenge. However, I see myself most effective in a Marketing/Comms setting, designing for through-the-line activities once again. With a strong interest in social media creation and growing skills in animation, I look forward to working with fellow designers and producing some truly memorable content.

I enjoy sports (particularly F1), a binge-worthy Netflix series and/or socialising over good food… So if I can incorporate that in to my day job at all, I’ll be laughing!
