Location

Alexander McQueen’s flagship store in London is selected for this exhibition since there are already some rooms for exhibitions in this flagship store on 27 Old Bond Street. On the top floor of this McQueen’s flagship store in London, there is no buying or selling activities going on. Instead, the entire floor is designed to provide a space for the brand’s exhibitions or other educational and creative events to interact with people, especially focusing on students, in order to form a creative community (Alexander McQueen, 2019). Since the space was opened to the public, two activities have been hosted, and the second one, Roses, has been operated from November 2019 until today (Alexander McQueen, 2019b). The first exhibition was called Unlocking Stories that happened around the beginning of 2019 to September 2019 showcasing the production, stories, textiles, craftsmanship and teamwork behind the Spring/Summer 2019 collection while at that point Sarah Burton viewing this space as an experimental space; however, Sarah Burton has always been an ambitious person that wanted everything happening in this space can inspire students among the entire UK (Alexander McQueen, 2019). Therefore, the researcher believes that by staging the exhibition in the flagship store, not only does the curator will enjoy the benefits that the space already had, such as the popularity and financial advantages, but also the exhibition will bring considerable benefits that help with McQueen’s further development as well.
