Statement

Specialising in menswear, my portfolio is a selection of my design work from my final year of university, showcasing four design outcomes.

Casablanca x The Golden Age of Illustration

My Spring Summer collection for Casablanca takes inspiration from artists of the Golden Age of Illustration specifically Edmund Dulac and Virginia Frances Sterrett who illustrated scenes from Greek Mythology.

Simone Rocha x The Golden Age of Illustration

This pre-fall collection has been inspired by the artist, Kay Neilson who created who created whimsical interpretations of classic folklore tales during the Golden Age of Illustration. Print and colour inspiration will come from the artwork, specifically look- ing into the book East of the sun, West of the moonand fairy tales of the brothers grim, displaying the evolving style of Neilson. The figures in the illustrations will provide inspiration for silhouette.

Ann Demeulemeester x Wild Flora

Wild Flora is an AW collection for Ann Demeulemeester inspired by the work of the photographer Karl Blossfeltd known for his close-up botanical photography. The photography was used to generate prints and fabric manipulation and deconstructed knitwear will be used to replicate the structures found in nature.

Cos x Victorian Sailors

The sailor suit was based on uniforms worn by the Royal Navy. It was popularised in the 1840s by Queen Victoria who had a suit designed and made on board the Royal Yacht for her son Prince Albert. Designing for Cos, I want to create timeless pieces focusing on strong silhouettes inspired by maritime utility clothing. Print will be inspired by the stripes worn by the navy and ocean inspired colour blocking. The seasonless collection is going to be split into 2 drops of 7 outfits, one for AW and one for SS.
