Statement

I want the work to be a place to travel, the practice explores architectural shapes and colours in relation to space.

By the influence of the abstract expressionism movement, each work experience different layered mediums to hide and revel the main shapes, I employ my emotions in the work by layering paint, collage and mark making.

Expression through abstraction

Mixed media on paper

Mixed media on canvas

I focus on light colour palette with a pop of vivid colours to create and eye-catching work. The purpose of mark making is to represent the individual identity and personal style, as each piece gains more complex, light and space that accrues are strongly influenced by the process. The biggest influence was from the work of Tricia Gillman, Gillian Ayres, and Mark Rothko, that examined the concepts of shapes and layering in different ways.
