Aradia

One of the potion bottle mock-ups.

Aradia is a luxury potion kit that consumers can purchase to make their own potion. 3 kits are available. One helps your physical well-being, another helps your mental well-being or you can use it to find your deepest darkest desire. The kits comes in a deluxe wooden box designed with different symbols, depending on which potion kit you purchase. Several ingredients come in the box, as well as some magical solutions to help make the potion. Inspired by medieval divination, the method/recipe card is designed like a tarot card which can be scanned to download an app. The app helps the customer find their last ingredient to create the potion, promoting the activity of foraging – like witches did in medieval times to create their potions.

The illustrations that visualise what each potion bottle would look like.

The designs show the potion kit box packaging, the pattern design that wraps the kit together once you open the box, and the contents of the box. The symbol, pattern and colour changes depending on which potion you buy. Once the box is opened, the customer scans the tarot card to download the app to find their last ingredient and the unique recipe for the potion is written on the other side.

By scanning the ‘A’ you can download the right app and the symbol on the back of the card is used to locate the users last ingredient to make the potion. The app is able to use the customers location to help locate the ingredient each user needs to create their potion. Much like augmented reality apps such as Pokemon Go, through the phone camera, the app guides you to your ingredient as it is located under the symbol you have scanned. Once the ingredient has been found, the filter lets you know which plants can be picked to use. It also provides some other facts about the plant and its uses in remedies.

As the target audience are high-end consumers who like a luxury, to promote the product, the advertisement is played on the Selfridges window display, rather than on billboards. The video shows the natural local ingredients and the magical solutions that come in the kit.

Women In Design

Women in design is an exhibition of influential women in graphic design, organised by Ladies, Wine & Design. Held at Tate Gallery in Liverpool, the exhibition celebrates women within the design industry. Along with the main poster to advertise the event, a leaflet was designed to provide information about the artists. The collage on these designs represent the issue of intersectionality within feminism.

Disruption

Inks and textures were used as a medium to advertise for ‘Disruption’, an experimental electronic music festival. The image and title were created to reflect the experimental music being played at the festival. Different designs were created using the same font and image to explore various layouts and outcomes.
